Repair of the Inner Flap 1066
Stress calculations were performed for repair of the inner flap 1066. Repair included a skin splice at the lower side in a section from leading edge to auxiliary spar. In addition, a section of the front spar was buckled and badly damaged. Two milled parts were produced and attached to the front spar, to replace the damaged part of the spar. Skin joint with splice doublers were checked for bearing and shear strength, skin net section and inter-rivet buckling. Spar joint with milled parts were checked for web strength (bending & shear buckling), spar caps strength (crippling), vertical stiffeners strength (stiffness requirement), rivet attachments and strength at access hole.
